Small tickets, real infrastructure
Why we are building HongoCapital for investors of every size, and what that does and does not mean.
By HongoCapital Team
For decades, infrastructure investing in Africa has been reserved for governments, development banks and large funds. Meanwhile, the people who live near these projects, and the diaspora who care about them, have had no way to take part.
Why lower minimums matter
A $100 minimum is not about small money for its own sake. It is about widening who can back the infrastructure their own communities need, and about spreading early-stage risk across many people rather than a few.
What it does not mean
Infrastructure is long-term and illiquid. Early-stage projects can fail, and investors can lose everything they put in. Nothing on our platform is open for investment today, and when it is, it will be offered only where we are legally able to do so.
Institutions still matter
Development finance institutions and large investors remain essential partners. We approach them directly and separately. The platform for smaller investors sits alongside that work, not instead of it.
