Mobile money is how Africa pays. It should be how Africa invests.
Designing an investing experience around mobile money, not cards, for DRC and Uganda.
By HongoCapital Team
In much of the DRC and Uganda, a bank card is the exception and a mobile wallet is the rule. Orange Money, Airtel Money, M-Pesa and MTN Mobile Money are how people already send, receive and save.
Start from how people already pay
An investing product built around card checkout quietly excludes most of the people it says it wants to reach. So we design the experience around mobile money first, with bank transfer and cards as options for investors elsewhere.
Where we are today
Today our platform lets you register interest and tell us your preferred payment method. It does not move money. Taking real payments from retail investors needs proper licensing, identity checks and a regulated payment partner, and we will not pretend otherwise.
What good looks like
Small amounts, clear fees, instant confirmation and a record you can trust. That is the standard we are building toward, one regulated step at a time.
